  • Nature-Based Solutions for Land and Water Management in Urban and Industrial Areas: Discussions revolved around sustainable soil, water, and spatial planning strategies to improve the resilience and livability of cities and industrial zones.
  • Measuring Processes and Impacts of NBS: This stream focused on developing methodologies and tools to quantify the effectiveness and benefits of nature-based solutions

Carlota García from CIRCE presented the CARDIMED project during the session titled “Nature-Based Solutions in Urban Areas/Soil Quality“. Her presentation, “Climate Adaptation through Nature-Based Solutions: Heat Wave Resiliency in Schoolyards,” emphasized the crucial role of monitoring urban environments during transformation processes. Carlota highlighted the significance of community participation as a foundational pillar in urban transformations, advocating for inclusive and participatory approaches in planning and implementation.
