In November 2025, Gardens of the Future hosted a series of educational school visits as part of CARDIMED sub-DEMO 9.3, welcoming students of different age groups to explore urban gardening, Nature-Based Solutions (NbS), and sustainable food systems in an accessible and hands-on way.
On 18 November, a group of nursery students, accompanied by their teachers, visited the garden for an introductory experience designed to foster early curiosity about nature. Through a sensory garden tour and an interactive introduction to the vertical garden system, children discovered how plants can grow without soil and how aquaponic cycles connect fish, water, and plants. The visit offered a playful first encounter with concepts such as circularity in nature, ecosystem cycles, and caring for green spaces.
A second visit took place on 25 November, when students from Pascal Private English School’s Gardening Club participated in a more in-depth educational programme. The session combined guided explanations of hydroponic and aquaponic systems with hands-on gardening activities, including harvesting herbs and maintaining planting beds. Students engaged actively with topics such as water efficiency, closed-loop systems, and sustainable urban agriculture, demonstrating strong environmental awareness.
