On November 20, 2024, the CARDIMED project hosted a co-design workshop at Government of Aragón (DGA) facilities in Zaragoza, Spain. Organized by Clara Lorente and Carlota García from CIRCE and Nieves Ibarra from DGA, in collaboration with Sergi Baena and Eduard Puga from CETAQUA, the event brought together key stakeholders from education sector, to explore cutting-edge digital solutions developed in the framework of the project for nature-based solutions (NBS) deployment for climate resilience via citizen participation and capacity building.
The workshop opened with an overview of its objectives, followed by detailed presentations, provided by CETAQUA team, of four digital solutions designed to enhance the implementation and transferability of CARDIMED’s NBS approach. These solutions include:
- Scenario-based NBS Definition and Impact Assessment Interface: A digital tool to define and evaluate NBS within CARDIMED, supporting informed decision-making.
- Climate Resilience Dashboards and Data Narratives: A visualization platform to monitor and communicate climate resilience indicators effectively.
- Citizen Participation App and Content Management System: A user-friendly application facilitating community engagement and stakeholder interaction in NBS interventions.
- Support Module for Exploitation and Transferability of CARDIMED Solutions: A tool designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and scalability of the project’s innovations.
The workshop featured a participatory session, where attendees engaged with the tools and provided valuable feedback to refine their functionality and answer to user needs. The event concluded with key takeaways that will guide further development and implementation, seeking knowledge translation and impact pathways.
The CARDIMED project continues to drive innovation in climate adaptation by integrating digital solutions into sustainable urban and natural ecosystem management.
