Climate adaptation and resilience demonstrated in the Mediterranean region

The Project

CARDIMED is a project funded by the Horizon Europe Programme focused on boosting Mediterranean climate resilience through widespread adoption of Nature-based Solutions (NBS) across regions and communities.

The CARDIMED Pillars

CARDIMED transforms the Mediterranean region’s climate resilience by integrating NBS and engineered infrastructure.

Digital Technologies for Climate Adaptation

is about using digital technology and data from satellites, sensors, and regular people to better understand and deal with climate change.

Socio-economic Resilience

is about how we organize and involve different groups of people, how we share scientific information, and how we get the money needed, especially through businesses that work with nature.

WEFE Nexus

is about collecting and using important data to create plans that make our use of water, energy, and food more efficient, so we can deal with climate change better.

Nature-Based Solutions

is about using NBS instead of traditional gray infrastructure to fight climate change on a large scale.

Demonstration Sites

The CARDIMED framework and Nature-based Solutions approach is being tested in 9 carefully selected Demonstration Sites covering a diversity of MedRegion contexts, challenges and technologies.
