On 2 June 2026, CTCON represented the CARDIMED project at Circularmente 2026, a leading event on circular economy, sustainable innovation, and the redesign of materials, products and processes, held in Murcia, Spain, and organised by the Centro Tecnológico de la Energía y del Medio Ambiente (CETENMA).
As part of the exhibition area, CTCON showcased CARDIMED at its stand, highlighting how the project is helping to strengthen climate resilience across Mediterranean regions through Nature-Based Solutions (NbS).
The presentation demonstrated how CARDIMED is implementing and validating NbS in a variety of Mediterranean contexts, showcasing their potential to complement or replace conventional grey infrastructure while delivering multiple environmental, economic and social benefits.
Among the key impacts highlighted were improvements in water quality, ecosystem restoration and biodiversity enhancement. The project also presented the economic advantages of NbS, offering more efficient solutions with lower long-term operational costs, while strengthening competitiveness through replication methodologies, training activities and green public procurement strategies. In addition, CARDIMED’s social dimension was emphasised through its focus on stakeholder engagement, stronger governance and knowledge transfer.
By participating in Circularmente 2026, CARDIMED reinforced the message that Nature-Based Solutions must move beyond pilot initiatives to become practical, scalable and transferable approaches capable of supporting climate-resilient and circular territorial development across the Mediterranean.
