New Mediterranean Resilience Alliance Invites Regions, Cities and Projects to Join a Growing Climate Resilience Network

The Mediterranean Resilience Alliance is inviting regions, cities, municipalities, projects and communities from across the Mediterranean and neighbouring regions to join a new collaborative network dedicated to strengthening climate resilience through Nature-based Solutions (NbS). The Alliance was established through the CARDIMED project and is designed to become a long-term platform for knowledge exchange, peer learning and collective action.

The Mediterranean region faces some of the world’s most pressing climate challenges, including increasing temperatures, water scarcity, extreme weather events and ecosystem degradation. Addressing these challenges requires stronger cooperation between public authorities, practitioners, researchers and communities working to implement effective adaptation measures.

The Mediterranean Resilience Alliance brings together organisations that have already developed and tested Nature-based Solutions with those seeking to adopt, adapt and replicate them in their own territories. By creating opportunities for collaboration across borders and sectors, the Alliance aims to accelerate the uptake of proven resilience solutions and support long-term climate adaptation efforts throughout the region.

Participation in the Alliance is voluntary and open. Members gain access to tested knowledge and best practices from demonstration sites, peer-to-peer exchange opportunities, capacity-building materials, matchmaking and networking activities, and connections to broader European resilience initiatives and funding opportunities.

The Alliance already brings together associated and replicating regions from across Europe and the Southern Mediterranean and continues to expand its network of participating territories and organisations.

“The Mediterranean Resilience Alliance will accelerate the uptake of Nature-based Solutions by scaling up proven actions and bringing new regions and communities on board. Our ambition by 2030: 28+ regions, 70+ communities and over €450 million mobilised for climate resilience.” Tadej Stepisnik Perdih, Coordinator of CARDIMED.

Organisations interested in becoming part of the Alliance are encouraged to register their interest and learn more about participation through the Alliance webpage.
