This policy brief, developed for CARDIMED Demo 6 in Aragón (Spain), explores key institutional barriers to mainstreaming Nature-based Solutions. It addresses challenges such as weak evidence bases, limited community engagement, exclusionary climate narratives, and conflicting perceptions of NBS as both "soft" and "hard" solutions. The brief presents co-produced recommendations to foster more inclusive, participatory, and effective climate resilience planning in the Mediterranean context.
