Established in 2003 by Thymio Papayannis, the Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA) is a non-profit organization committed to a harmonious world where societies thrive in tandem with nature. Their mission involves improving local communities' wellbeing by conserving natural resources and promoting cultural heritage. For 2022-2024, the focus is on (a) biodiversity protection and conservation and (b) building resilient communities through sustainable agri-food systems and water resource management. MedINA adopt a holistic approach, merging practical environmental action with cultural documentation and promotion. Human welfare is integral to their equation, striving to offer opportunities for sustainable development. Their dedicated team, spans ecology, environmental management, agronomy, planning, architecture, anthropology, archaeology, and education, working collaboratively towards the organisation's vision.
