ITAINNOVA is a non-profit technology centre whose main objective is to promote competitiveness in the industrial sector by means of the development, acquisition, adaptation and transfer of innovative technologies. ITAINNOVA offers its services with a clear market orientation, providing real and innovative solutions from its lines of research and development, which transform and accelerate the technological processes of companies or new challenges in our society. ITAINNOVA is structured into different technological areas: Materials & Components, Mechatronics & Robotics, Power Electronics, and Digital Technologies. They offer a multidisciplinary approach that can help tackle the many technological challenges our society faces, with a very effective cross-sector approach, working on a wide variety of industrial sectors, such as mobility, machinery, automotive, construction, aeronautics, railways, logistics, ICT, health, robotics, agro-industry and materials transformation.

Role in CARDIMED:

ITAINNOVA's main role in the CARDIMED project is the generation of models for the processes and equipment related to water loss, water contamination and water treatment in an industrial environment. The models will be hybrid, combining the knowledge of the system physics with real data, and they will be integrated in a Digital Twin (a virtual copy of the production plant that runs in parallel to the real processes, to assist the plant operation). The models will be used for prediction of the real processes behavior and for the optimization of water usage. The work will be mainly developed in the framework of the DEMO2 Industrial symbiosis through smart water management in Central Greece (HALCOR) in the Central Greece Region.
