Short Description:

The Energy and water agency (EWA) is an organisation under the Government of Malta. The agency is responsible for drafting and actioning the Government’s national policies for these two sectors, and abiding by EU legislation for energy and water sustainability. It has also the responsability to act on laws and develop policies for renewable energy, energy efficiency, water demand management, and the security of the local energy supply (for electricity, gas and water).

Role in CARDIMED:

EWA is responsible for replicating a DEMO site from the CARDIMED project in Malta and identifying potential gaps and suggesting improvements, which provides more robust policy and operational measures to such projects for further replicability beyond the CARDIMED project.
