Short Description:

The Research Business Association Construction technology Center of the region of Murcia (CTCON) is a private non-profit business association whose main purpose is the development of any activity aimed at advancing technology, quality, competitiveness and expansion of the construction sector and related industries. Since their creation in 2003, CTCON contribute to the technological development and competitiveness of the business fabric of the Region of Murcia through learning, specialization and subsequent technology transfer to CTCON members and our clients. Their main task is the development of R+D+I projects, although for the complete development of the sector they also provide Advanced Technological Services, Specialized Training Services and Technological Dissemination and Surveillance Services.

Role in CARDIMED:

In CARDIMED, CTCON will focus on the uptake of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) in the urban planning and infrastructure sectors. The assessment of the project innovations on the applicability of NBS as replacement for grey infrastructure will be performed. The assessment will prioritise simpler solutions, as direct replacement of grey infrastructures or as potential synergies to conventional infrastructure works, considering how to promote local/green procurement. A report on the roadmaps for local/green procurement of NBS in urban planning will be created based on DEMOs evaluation. Issues with integration of NBS in existing value chains will be identified, including risks and barriers.
